JazzLib: Jack DeJohnette

Fri, 09/05/2008 - 22:00
As well as being a world-famous drummer, Jack DeJohnette is also a fine pianist, a composer of note, and the leader of several bands that have toured and recorded widely. He visits Britain regularly, and on the occasion of his solo concert at this year's Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Radio 3's Jazz Library has invited him to discuss his work. Alyn Shipton not only discusses Jack's best-known work but delves a little deeper into his back catalogue for some real surprises. Laconic, witty and a relaxed conversationalist, Jack is the ideal subject for this special ‘as live’ edition of the Jazz Library Podcast.
